Voluntary Sector leaders and activists have been playing a pivotal role in mitigating the harsh effects of COVID-19 on the country and its citizens. From providing relief services, access to fundamental necessities of life, medical supplies, COVID-19 testing services, constant support and creating awareness on important information regarding the basic precautions in fighting the virus, the Voluntary Sector has been a constant pillar of support, to the marginalized and vulnerable communities of India.
During this war against the pandemic, many front line Voluntary Sector leaders have lost their battle with life. Through this survey, we aim to document the number of leaders and activists we have lost to COVID- 19 and know their stories.

स्वैच्छिक क्षेत्र के लीडर और कार्यकर्ता इस देश और इस देश के नागरिकों पर कोविड - 19 के क्रूर प्रभावों को कम करने में अपनी प्रमुख निभा रहे हैं. स्वैच्छिक क्षेत्र भारत के सीमांतक तथा असुरक्षित व कमजोर समुदाओं को राहत सेवाएं पहुंचाने के साथ - साथ उनके जीवन की बुनियादी जरूरतों, चिकित्सा सम्बन्धी आपूर्तियों, कोविड - 19 की जांच सेवाओं तक पहुँच बनाने और इस वायरस से लड़ने में बरती जाने वाली मूल सावधानियों के सम्बन्ध में जागरूकता बढ़ाते हुए उन्हें निरंतर रूप से सहयोग पहुँचाने का आधार बने हुए हैं.
इस वैश्विक महामारी में जमीनी स्तर पर काम करने वाले स्वैच्छिक क्षेत्र के कई लीडरों ने जीवन की इस लड़ाई में अपनी जान गवाँ दी. यह सर्वेक्षण करने का हमारा ध्येय इन्ही सब लीडरों व कार्यकर्ताओं का दस्तावेज बनाना है और उनकी दास्तान को जानना है जिन्हे हमने कोविड - 19 की इस महामारी में खो दिया.
