Information Collection, Analysis & Dissemination
Central to VANI's advocacy work is providing information on policies and programmes of the Government and donor organisations to its members. VANI gathers information and provides perspectives on issues that affect the voluntary sector, for its members especially those that work at grass-roots level and do not have convenient access to mainstream media and national government offices. Information is disseminated through its bi-monthly newsletter E-Vani and also publishes books, monographs, conference proceedings and primers on themes concerning NGOs and civil society in general. The purpose is to educate, update and form an interactive platform with our members and associates which would cater to the myriad of issues they face in the operation of their organizations. Dissemination of detailed and nuanced information is the mandate of VANI.
As a platform, it promotes voluntarism and creates space for voluntary action.
As a network, it attempts to bring about a convergence of common sectoral issues and concerns for building a truly National agenda of voluntary action in the country. It also facilitates linkages of various efforts and initiatives of the voluntary sector in the country for a multiplier effect, to create and sustain the process of change in an organic manner.
