 Ford Foundation

Established by Henry Ford in 1936, the Ford Foundation is a resource for innovative people and institutions worldwide. Their goals are to strengthen democratic values, reduce poverty and injustice, promote international cooperation and advance human achievement through projects that focus on capacity building, human rights, economic development, and education.

The Foundation established an office in New Delhi in 1952. It was the Foundation's first program outside the United States, and remains the largest of its overseas operations. Since 1972, the Foundation's primary function in India has been as a grant-making institution, providing funds to academic and research organizations, government agencies and non-government entities.

 ICCO

The work of ICCO, Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation, focuses on financing church and non-church activities which stimulate and enable people, in their own way, to organise dignified housing and living conditions. Active in countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, the Caribbean, and in Central and Eastern Europe, ICCO's mission is to work towards a world where poverty and injustice are no longer present. For this reason, ICCO seeks on the one hand to make a relevant contribution to structural poverty alleviation in developing countries, and on the other hand to promote structures, systems and processes that contribute globally to a more equitable distribution of prosperity and power. These long-term objectives have been elaborated into three policy themes: access to basic social services, fair economic development, and democratisation and peace building.
